"Hot Wax / Cool Art"

The studio just completed a fascinating and dynamic workshop led by Lynn Kishiyama. "Hot Wax/ Cool Art" explored the ancient technique of painting with wax, a technique which is currently experiencing a revival in popularity. Encaustic wax was first practiced by the Greeks as far back as the 5th century BC. It's a tricky process, at times frustrating, but ultimately incredibly rewarding.
